Before you head out, there’s a few important rules about how the Dining Out Gift Card works. These will help you avoid any surprises when it comes time to pay.

1. In-venue use only. The Dining Out Gift Card can only be used in person at participating restaurants, pubs, bars, and hotels. It cannot be used for online purchases, delivery orders, or takeaway apps.
2. Not valid at franchise or Moto locations. The gift card cannot be used at any Moto motorway service locations or at independently franchised venues, even if they carry a Mitchells & Butlers brand name. Always check the Dining Out venue finder or ask your server before ordering if you’re still unsure.
3. Valid for 2 years. The Dining Out Gift Card is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. After the validity period expires, any remaining balance will no longer be accessible.
4. No need to spend it all at once. If your meal costs less than the value on the card, the remaining balance stays on the card for future visits. You can use it across multiple transactions until the full balance is spent.
5. Cannot be exchanged for cash. The Dining Out Gift Card is not redeemable for cash, and no change will be given. It is also not a cheque guarantee, credit, debit, or charge card.
6. Covers food, drinks, and hotel stays. The gift card can be used to pay for meals, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and overnight stays at participating Innkeeper's Collection hotels.
7. Treat digital cards like cash. If you received a digital eGift card by email, keep it safe. If you delete the delivery email permanently, the gift cardcannot be resent. Digital cards can be presented on a smartphone screen or printed out.

1. Find a participating venue. Use the Dining Out venue finder to search for a participating restaurant, pub, or hotel near you. You can filter by location and brand to find the perfect venue.
2. Visit the venue and enjoy your meal. Order whatever you like from the menu. The Dining Out Gift Card covers food, drinks, and desserts, so treat yourself.
3. Present your card when paying. When you’re ready to settle the bill, hand your physical gift card to your server or show your digital eGift card on your smartphone. If you have a printed copy of your digital card, that works just as well.
4. Pay any remaining balance if needed. If your total bill is higher than the balance on the card, simply pay the difference using another payment method such as cash or a debit card.
5. Keep the card for next time. If there is any balance left on the gift card after you’ve paid for your meal, hold on to the gift card. You can use it again at any participating venue until the full balance has been spent or the card expires.
